Holmes Mackillop appoints corporate law specialist to expanding Ayr office

Holmes Mackillop Solicitors has appointed corporate law specialist Cara Teven to its expanding Ayr office, enhancing the firm’s corporate offering to businesses throughout the region and beyond.

From Ayr, Teven, a graduate of Ayr Academy and Strathclyde University, is a Notary Public with experience of providing advice to high-net-worth individuals and working on high value matters.

Having worked as a solicitor in the charities and third sector, she has provided legal advice to clients on a wide range of matters related to corporate, governance and charity law. Teven joins the firm from a prominent UK law firm, headquartered in Scotland.

“I’m delighted to join Holmes Mackillop at such an exciting time for the firm in Ayrshire and look forward to bolstering our corporate services to local businesses as they grow and develop their services in a local economy with tremendous potential and opportunities for expansion,” she said.

Welcoming her to the firm, Ralph Riddiough, Holmes Mackillop director and Head of Corporate, said: “Cara’s appointment stands as testament to the fact that ambitious Ayrshire businesses can compete with the very best of them and attract talent from city firms to the region.

“With a thriving local economy and a growing number of businesses offering a plethora of quality employment opportunities in Ayrshire, the region can now boast a law firm with two corporate specialists based in Ayr to service their business requirements.”

Teven’s appointment follows Holmes Mackillop’s recent acquisition of the private client and property business of D&J Dunlop to introduce a full-service law firm to Ayrshire and follows a trio of other recent appointments to its burgeoning Ayr office.

With over 240 years of experience, Holmes Mackillop has a long history of delivering a broad
