Holmes Mackillop appoints four trainee solicitors
Holmes Mackillop has appointed Aidan Dunn, Sam Hamilton, Olivia McCue and Katie Maguire as trainee solicitors.
Dunn joins the firm’s Glasgow office dispute resolution and litigation department, supporting a wide range of matters, including employment law, family law, commercial and debt recovery court actions.
Graduating from Aberdeen University last year with a degree in Scots Law with English Law, he proceeded to complete the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the same institution.
During his traineeship, he will also gain experience across the private client, property, and corporate departments.
Hamilton joined the firm in 2024 as an Administrative Assistant while completing his studies. Currently based in the Glasgow office, he starts his traineeship in the Wills, Estates and Future Planning team, gaining experience on the administration of Estates as well as on the preparation of Wills, Powers of Attorney and Trust Matters.
Hamilton graduated last year with a First-Class Honours degree in Scots Law from the University of Strathclyde where he subsequently completed the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice earlier this year.
McCue joined the firm in 2023 as an Administrative Assistant while completing her studies. She begins her traineeship in the firm’s Giffnock office.
McCue graduated from the University of Strathclyde last year with an Honours degree in Scots Law and subsequently completed the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Strathclyde in 2026. Her first seat of traineeship involves both residential and commercial conveyancing.
And Maguire joins the Glasgow office’s litigation department where she will support clients across a variety of areas including family law, employment law, debt recovery, and various other court actions.
She graduated from the University of Glasgow with a First-Class Honours in Scots Law and Politics and continued at the university for her Diploma in Professional Legal Practice.
During her traineeship she will have the opportunity to work alongside the firm’s private client, property, and corporate departments.
